In 1892, the company was founded as „Nagy und Watzke Kapselfabrik“ (Nagy and Watzke capsule factory) operating production plants in Pinggau and Budapest. Due to World War I and its consequences, the business relationship with Hungary was destroyed and thus the company developed independently.
After having survived World War I, the company was forced to work in the war economy in 1939. Thanks to the great commitment of its employees, the company was able to return to free market economy after the end of World War II restarting the production of bottle capsules!
In 1970, the company was reorganised into a "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung" (private limited company). By adding new shareholders, additional know‑how could be gained in the fields of tin foil capsules and synthetic capsules.
The company was able to sustain its position in the international market and succeeded in expanding its export activities in California, New Zealand, Australia and in the rest of Europe. In 2005, BT-Watzke was integrated into BT-Group, an internationally operating group of companies, and has been serving the international markets successfully since then.
Also in future, BT-Watzke will count on its employees' competence and commitment to satisfy its customers completely.
